Start your exploration of Chilean wine country in the Cachapoal Valley. Cachapoal is known for its rich red wines, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon near the Andes and award-winning Carménère near the center of the valley. Around midday you arrive to Viña VIK, one of Chile’s newer vineyards. Take some time to explore the beautiful property, arriving to the small, modern winery. Enjoy a barrel tasting of the first VIK wines. This wine represents several years of hard work building a new vineyard in Chile, and you will be among the first to sample their offerings. After the tasting, eat lunch at the vineyard’s restaurant with a fantastic view over the VIK estate.
After your time at Viña Vik you will head to the Colchagua Valley. Tonight you stay at a beautiful boutique hotel, located near the village of Santa Cruz.
Located in the Colchagua Valley in the heart of Chilean wine country, the Noi Blend was constructed in a vintage vineyard dating back to 1875. The hotel maintains the traditional architecture and historical charm of the original structure, while emphasizing modern comfort and amenities. The 13-room hotel offers a swimming pool and a restaurant featuring local ingredients and local wines.

Explore the Colchagua Valley, one of the most important wine regions in South America. This area is known for its top-quality reds, particularly Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Malbec.
Set out by bike and pedal to Viña Estampa. After a tour and tasting, set off to the family-run Viu Manent Winery, home to several award-winning vintages, including their Gran Reserva Malbec (2010), Secreto de Viu Manent Sauvignon Blanc (2011), and Secreto de Viu Manent Syrah (2010). Have a tour and tasting, followed by lunch at the winery. After lunch, visit Neyen de Apalta Winery, which focuses all its production on one Bordeaux-style blend from 115 year-old Carménère vines. From here you will have the option to return to the hotel by bike or car.
For those who like a more relaxed ride, we offer e-bikes, which have a small motion-powered motor that lets you expend as much or as little effort as you like on your bike. If you prefer not to bike, we can also arrange this day with vehicle transport.
Drive along Chile’s lovely Ruta de Fruta, heading to the coastal San Antonio Valley. Your first stop is in the small town of Lo Abarca, where you enjoy a leisurely stroll to see the colorful mosaics spread throughout the village. At the end of your walk you arrive to Casa Marín Winery. Founded in 2000 by Chile’s first female vineyard owner, Maria Luz Marín, Casa Marín has been described as one of the “most daring and innovative” vineyards in the country. Its outstanding wines have received many awards, including Best Sauvignon Blanc in the World (2010) and Winery of the Year 2010 by industry association Wines of Chile. Most recently, it was named among the Top 100 Wineries in the World (2012) by Wine & Spirits magazine. Two of its top wines – Miramar Vineyard Syrah 2010 and Cipreses Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2011 – were named “best in Chile” by the country’s most prestigious wine publication, Descorchados (Uncorked).
Drive the remaining few miles to the coast and the town of Isla Negra. Visit the extraordinary former home of Nobel Prize-winner Pablo Neruda, now a fascinating museum that looks out to the sea and provides a snapshot into the life and mind of Chile’s most beloved poet. Continue to the white sand beaches of Tunquén to enjoy a sunset picnic with spectacular views of the rolling waves and breathtaking landscape.
Constructed during the turn of the century, La Casona is a traditional and elegant country house with seven garden suites, located at Matetic Vineyards. Each room is named after the red and white grapes used in their wines. The landscaped gardens provide a tranquil retreat, and the restaurant is one of the best in the Chilean wine country. All bookings include a visit to the family wine cellar and production facilities, located a few miles away.
*Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Get to know the Casablanca Valley, an area characterized by cool coastal breezes that create an ideal climate for growing Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Pinot Noir. Start with a tour and tasting at Matetic Vineyards.
Afterward set out by bike and pedal about 13 miles to Kingston Vineyards, a winery pioneering the production of cool-climate, artisan-style reds. Wines from the 300 acre family ranch are handcrafted and bottled on site. Enjoy a tour and private tasting of Kingston’s distinctive wines, followed by a picnic lunch.
After breakfast, travel back through wine country to Santiago, where you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight home or to your next destination.
Add a few extra nights in Santiago or visit the coastal city of Valparaíso. We can arrange a variety of activities, including city tours, culinary excursions, visits to historical sites, and active options such as hiking, biking and horseback riding.
Extend your visit with some time in the lovely Lake District, Easter Island, or the Atacama desert.
Explore the glaciers and fjords at the bottom of South America with the possibility of stepping foot on Cape Horn by taking a small ship Patagonia cruise on the Stella Australis or Ventus Australis.
