End of the Chilean Reciprocity Fee!

Return to Journal Next entry

la foto 2On February 28, 2014 the US Department of Homeland Security announced the signing of a bilateral agreement between Chile and the US Government. For those hoping to visit Chile, the agreement holds some very good news. Prior to this agreement, US citizens had to pay a $160 “reciprocity fee” upon entrance to Chile. This reciprocity fee was charged due to the fact that Chileans entering the US had to pay a fee of that same amount. However, now there are no fees or any other type of visas required for traveling to Chile. Travel to Chile is now simpler than ever. If you haven´t yet been to Chile, be sure to check out some of our Chile programs. Some great places to visit in Chile include Patagonia (Torres del Paine National Park), the Lake District, San Pedro de Atacama, the Central Valley Wine Region, Valparaíso, and Easter Island.
