This 17th-century former mill once served as the Glacières de Strasbourg, where blocks of ice were produced for shops, breweries, and private households throughout the region. Production declined with the widespread use of refrigerators and eventually ceased in 1989. It was at that time when Mr. Jean-Maurice Scharf, the current owner, acquired the buildings and transformed them. The Régent Petite France Hotel & Spa opened its doors on May 1, 1992, offering guests an exceptional experience in a setting that seamlessly blends history with modernity.
