Hacienda Cusín is set in a restored 17th-century Andean estate. The hotel is an excellent base for exploring the Andes and nearby towns, and the largest open-air market in South America is close by in the town of Otavalo. (The Otavalo Market is biggest on Saturday, but open and popular all week.) There are also several other nearby towns that specialize in various crafts. All rooms and common areas are decorated with local crafts and antiques, and have fireplaces and high-beamed ceilings. Lush gardens and cobblestone lanes surround the property. While not a luxury property, this is a charming and comfortable place.
